Nnedi Okorafor explains the background to the genre

In African futurism, readers are introduced to a fantastical future world based on African myths, traditions, history and landscapes. This sub-category of science fiction was first defined by author Nnedi Okorafor in 2019. Okorafor, who is considered the biggest star in the genre, has written several best-selling books, including Who Fears Death, which is currently being developed into a TV series for HBO.

In this talk, Nnedi Okorafor will explain the background to the genre, which is constantly gaining new ground, also in Norway and Bergen.

The talk is in English.
