With Olivier Truc og Solveig Lygren

The event will be in Swedish and Norwegian.

Olivier Truc is a French journalist, novelist, and documentary filmmaker, formerly a correspondent in Sweden for Le Monde and Libération.  His novels are at the crossroads of investigative stories, thrillers and politics. He was awarded the Mystère de la critique Prize in 2013.

In this converdsation, he will discuss his position as a journalist-novelist, some inevitable bridges and similarities between these two positions, and how he approaches writing in this context.

Moderation: Solveig Lygren, Research Fellow at UiB. She has Master's degrees in literature studies as well as in French literature and translation. Lygren is writing her PhD thesis on the environmental crisis in Norwegian and French contemporary literature.

"After 25 years in journalism, where facts are sacred and are leading you by the nose, I have discovered (as a writer) the freedom to play with quotations, to manipulate place descriptions, to turn chronologies upside down, to have characters obey me almost all the time ». Olivier Truc. (Excerpt from the Interview, Zone livre Nørdic).
